Hard throwing Merkin Valdez in action Satuday 7/9/05. Merkin was the winning pitcher in a 7-2 Navigators victory. Valdez was on the mound when the rains came causing about a 90 minute rain delay. Matt Palmer pitched great in relief picking up the save. Valdez is be appearing in the Futures Game during the MLBB All-Star break along with fellow 'Gator 2B Kevin Frandsen.
